Docent-led Gallery Talk: The Bell P-39 Airacobra

6:30, 7 & 7:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 6

Alaska Exhibition, Second Floor, East Wing

In-Person Event

Join us in the Alaska Exhibition for a docent-led talk on the Bell P-39 Airacobra, considered by historians to be an American flop and Soviet success. The P-39 was an early American WWII fighter aircraft used in the South Pacific and the Aleutians with limited success. The P-39 was provided to the Soviet Union in large numbers during the Lend-Lease Program and considered a highly successful aircraft for the Red Air Force in The Great Patriotic War, the Soviet term referring to most of the Eastern Front of World War II.
