Teen Climate Communicators Address Climate Change in Special Companion Installation to How to Survive

July 17, 2024

ANCHORAGE, Alaska – Anchorage Museum is encouraging creative solutions to climate change from the next generation most likely to feel its effects – teens.

Anchorage-area students grades 9-12 interested in fighting climate change are invited to join the Anchorage Museum’s new Teen Climate Communicators program. Teens will gather from the fall to the spring to learn about and investigate climate change and climate action using museum artworks, objects, and resources.

Over the course TCC, teens and museum staff work toward short-term weekly projects and reflections and a long-term, exhibition project. These sessions are flexible and guided by the teens themselves, allowing students to select topics of interest and work on materials for their exhibition to be shared with the community.

Teen Climate Communicators attend weekly meetings at Seed Lab (111 W. 6th Ave). Participants also receive volunteer hours and a climate communicator certificate. To apply, visit our website.
