ANCHORAGE MUSEUM AND THE ARCTIC ENCOUNTER ANNOUNCE NEW PARTNERSHIP FOR NORTH X NORTH 2022
January 06, 2022
ANCHORAGE, Alaska – The Anchorage Museum and the Arctic Encounter are thrilled to announce a new partnership. This year, the Anchorage Museum will host North x North on April 6-9, 2022, in collaboration with Arctic Encounter, which will convene April 7-8 in Downtown Anchorage.
North x North is an annual event celebrating connection, creativity, imagination, and innovation across Alaska and the Northern Arctic regions. North x North and the Arctic Encounter share in their mutual mission to elevate voices and spotlight important topics in the Far North. Through strategic production work, both the Arctic Encounter and the Museum’s North x North convene people worldwide for creative and expert conversations on the Arctic, climate, and groundbreaking Northern topics and other media.
Following last month’s announcement that the 2022 Arctic Encounter will be hosted in Anchorage, Alaska, we are pleased to share that North x North will be hosted at the Anchorage Museum, its Seed Lab, and extending into downtown Anchorage. Partnering with the Tromsø International Film Festival, North x North will include art installations, creative workshops, conversations, and film screenings.
North x North will also connect to the My Climate Object project celebrating Earth Day 2022, part of a broader partnership between the Climate Museum in New York City, the Australian Museum, the Natural History Museum in London, the Museum of Tomorrow in Brazil, the Nigerian National Museum, and the Museum of the United Nations.
Arctic Encounter and the Anchorage Museum look forward to sharing more about this exciting new partnership in the coming weeks and months.
