In-Person Event

Out North and the Joe Jim Paul Fan Club (JJPFC) invite you to a sampling workshop with Ed Washington. Explore JJPFC’s collection of Alaska music on vinyl and learn how to create your own sounds from analog.

In this two-part workshop series, participants will learn how to transfer audio into a digital format, find and create loops with audio samples and “chop” audio samples. More advanced participants will arrange samples into music. This workshop is open to all levels of musical production skill. Open to ages 14 and older. Free; Registration is for both sessions. For questions, reach out to contact@outnorth.org or call 907-360-9664.

This workshop is made possible, in part, by a grant from the Alaska State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, with additional funding from the Rasmuson Foundation.
